This 1970 Wilton Model #8135 Swivel Base bench vise has been thoroughly restored, and is now for sale.

It was actually in pretty good shape when I bought it, except the horseshoe washer was missing. The anvil area did not need dressing, which was a good sign that this vise had not been beat on.

I added a new washer and built two custom sets of jaws.  One is serrated, and the other smooth. The jaw screw holes are slotted so the jaws will line up when closed. 

Wilton built these Cadets to compete with the Mechanic line of vises.  They made the key for the slider where the date stamp is, but did not built it as tight.  The slot for this vise is machined at .250 wide.  The key is .235 wide.  It's a little sloppy which causes some side to side movement when closing.  This explains why the Cadet is priced lower than the Machinist.  While the Machinist vises are built to .005 clearance, and are a higher quality and price, a Cadet serves many professional and home shops well.  I think you will be very happy with this older well-restored Willton Cadet.
